command-line CD writing

I'm trying to put together a batch file to backup a single
directory (data for a personal finance app) to a CD. It
seemed logical enough to leverage XP's built-in CD writing
to the task, rather than fork out for more software, but I
can't figure out how to start it burning once the files are
in Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning

I then came across "Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit
Tools", which claims to work with XP also .. which contains
a "Cdburn.exe: ISO CD-ROM Burner Tool". But as far as I can
see, no tool to make the ISO in the first place.

Can anyone suggest a way to bridge the gaps here? Or any
(preferably free) software that will?

TIA,
Shaun
