shouldnt that be

access.modulesADO - after all, an ADP will be using ADO by default

(MS Access Front End - SQL Server Backend

microsoft.public.access.modulesdaovba )

Very confusing

I think you'll find that the majority of Access users use MDBs (or ACCDBs),
not ADPs. DAO is still the preferred method of communicating with Jet
databases (i.e. MDBs or ACCDBs).

For questions about ADPs, go to microsoft.public.access.adp.sqlserver

Thats what I thought - this group really arn't about SQL back ends at
all.
I do believe that most users use MDB's as you say, but they dont use
DAO to connect to SQL server.

- so how about changing your description to more accurately reflect
the real aims of the group.

I think you misread the name from the beginning. It's ...

microsoft public access modules__DAO__VBA

No part of that suggests ADP or ADO.

And, in fact, the newsgroup existed before ADPs and before ADO was
introduced into Access.
