Do you mean the product key? If so, what product are you trying to install
with it?

Huh? Instead of using the Subject line to ask your question, please use the
body of the message and provide additional (in your case...a lot more)
detail.

What version of Outlook?
What version of Windows?
2000 version of what?
What is a "product character key"?
Are you getting any error messages? If so, what are they?

I'll take a wild guess...you might be asking about the "product key" for
Office 2000 and when you enter it during installation, you get a message
that says the key is invalid. Would that be correct? Please post back.
