I am using Windows XP, nad Internet Explorer 7.

When doing updates, when I come to the 83 item download, my system fails to
download and just gives me the error message: "The following updates were
not installed:". The next time I try to download: the same 83 items, the
same error message appears. Yet I know that it was once successful because
of the presence of the IE 7 symbol. I cannot skip an update. If I do the
next time I do an update the same list of failed updates appears Atempting
to do only one update by unchecking all but one, in the list, reults in that
being the only item in the list of failed updates, but doesn't remove it
from the next list of potential updates.

I must solve the problem because until I do I will never be able to download
a new update. I've tried reopening Windows Explorer, and closing and
reopening Windows XP.

Please help!

Don J

Asked (for some reason)/Answered in IE General newsgroup.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

If you must make identical posts to multiple newsgroups, please cross-post
one (1) message to all of them. Thank you.
