I am trying to my outlook 2007 to take my comcast email account and it will
not work. I am getting error messages as follows:

Task 'Brian and Misty Wilson - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) :
'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'
Task 'Brian and Misty Wilson - Receiving' reported error (0x80042108) :
'Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'

Not sure what to do! I need to get this up and running!! Help would be
appreciated!

Thanks!

Did you do as the error suggested already; contacted your ISP?
What did they say?

They told me it was an issue with Microsoft. That Microsoft is not compatible
with Comcast. They told me to contact you.

I'm not Microsoft ;-)

I wonder why they have this guide then;
http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/inde...=Emailtop17742

Do you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook? Disable this
integration and try again.

Additionally see;

That still doesn't work... I guess Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Comcast are not
compatible.

There is no technical reason for Outlook to reject Comcast accounts. On the
other side; Comcast can block Outlook 2007 at protocol level (I not saying
that they do, just that it is technically possible). I suggest you contact
Comcast again.

Are you sure you've fully disabled McAfee's integration with Outlook?
Additionally; a you currently on the Comcast network to make a connection to
the Internet? Some ISPs block POP3 access from outside they're own network.
In that case you can only use web mail.

I used outlook 2003 edition just fine. I contacted Comcast again, and they
say it is an issue with outlook, not comcast.

I give up!

Thanks for your help though... i will go to mozilla thunderbird and let all
my comcast users know that outlook 07 will not support them.

Have a good day

The same thing happened to me. Outlook 2007 was working great with Comcast,
now it just won't

I had the EXACT same experience with Outlook 2003,which is why I stopped
using it, i.e. when I first started using it it worked fine with Comcast but,
after a time, the ability to send mail from outlook just went away for no
apparent reason.

Now it looks like the same thing all over again in Outlook 2007.
