This is really not a DNS issue, but rather a networking and connectivity
issue on how to connect your laptop to the network. First try to ping your
router's IP address. If that works, you've proved connectivity on the
network. Then try to ping
www.yahoo.com. If that works, then that means that
it's connected to the Internet. If not, then try to ping 4.2.2.2. If that
works, but not yahoo.com, then you have the wrong DNS addresses, then it's
not and it's a config problem with using the wrong DNS server. So assuming
you have DHCP setup on your router and it's turned on, and the laptop is set
to automatically get an IP configuration from DHCP, then check to see what
DNS addresses your laptop is getting (ipconfig /all).
If that doesn't help, and you have further problems, I would highly suggest
to read up on your Linksys router, see if it's setup correctly, and read up
on your laptop's config or possibly, since it's brand new, maybe give HP or
the store you bought it at to see if they can help or post this in the
networking newsgroup.
On the other hand, if none of your machines are connecting, it can be due to
a worm floating around that was discovered yesterday that's saturating many
ISPs at this time. Had that problem with one of my clients the past two
days. Check
