combobox change event triggered without change

I have a userform with a combobox. I have a change event so when the
combobox is changed a module is run. on the same userform I have a
save button to perform a "save as" for the file. when i click the
save button, the combobox change event is triggered which is causing
me problems. is there a way to temporary disable the change event
while the save is being performed? or is there another option to use
besides "change," that will not trigger in this case? thanks.
