Combining slides from different presentations in one new presentation

Hi
I have accumulated a series of ppt presentations over the
past month - now I am preparing for a conference and want
to have some slides from one ppt and some from another
etc etc.
I have set up a new ppt but I would like to "insert slide
from file" in such a way that the original formatting (ie
template colours etc ) stay intact. At the moment they
auto reformat to the "host" ppt.

The only work round I can find is to export the slides to
jpg and insert them into the new ppt - but I seem to
loose some clarity and (obviously) the opportunity to
edit them at the last minute.

Would appreciate any help with this.

thanks

It depends on the version of PowerPoint you are using. See the information
