Hi Folks-

There must be a Windows setting I'm missing. After converting to XP
from Win2k, I miss the selected file(s) size calculation that I'm used
to having at the bottom of the window. I'm used to something like "5.6
MB used in 8 files" or something like that.

How do I tell XP to do this?

Marc

In the View menu, check 'Status bar'.

You may wish to set up all the aspects of the window the way you would
like it as default (including size, layout, Choose details to be shown
in any Details view, etc). Then in Tools - Folder Options - View,
click on 'Apply to All' to set as default - which will be picked up by
others as you open them. Provided you have 'remember each folders view
settings' checked in that dialog, you can then make individual changes
in folders (size, position, maybe a different arrangement) from that
start point
