combine contents - A little different

Hi everyone, I have been looking through these pages but to no avail.
The problem I have is a little different to the other "combine
contents" questions that I have seen.

Here Goes Nothing:

Purchase Date Make / Carline Units

March-04 9900 International
March-04 9900 International
March-04 9900 International
April-04 9900 International
May-04 9900 International
May-04 9900 International
July-04 9900 International

Is there any way to get excel to group the purchase date and make in
order to output a number of units? So the output is similar to this?

Purchase Date Make / Carline Units

March-04 9900 International 3
April-04 9900 International 1
May-04 9900 International 2
July-04 9900 International 1

So essentially I want it to see that there are 3 units sold in March
04, add the figure of 3 to the column next to it and then delete the
duplicate copies. Is this at all possible?

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide me.

Regards

Andrew Clark.

Sounds like a job for the Pivot Table to me - data menu, then pivot
table from here.

Using a pivot table would be your best solution.

Thanks for all your help guys. I decided to try this DigDB plug in for
excel - 15 day free trial. They have a system in there called "Roll Up"
and it has done exactly what I wanted / needed it to do.

I will link it just in case anyone else has the same problem that I had
in the future

Thanks again guys.
