I have a new Dell machine running WinXP. I am logging data on two com ports,
com 1 and com 3. Com 3 is a USB/comport. After a couple of weeks of
collecting data (the program is Microset) the logging ports shut down and I
get a message on the screen telling me that com 3 is not available. Both
logging programs turn off. I've used this program on older XP machines and
have collected data al long as a year with no problems. On this new machine
the problem has happened three times, usually after a week or so of data
collection. I'm not sure where to start looking for the problem. Are there
error logs anywhere in XP? Any ideas?
Thanks for any help....
Bill S
