com and modem problem code 10

      2nd Sep 2003
i ugraded from win 98 to 2000 professional and i have a
code 10 error on com port 3, my modem does not connect to
internet. modem drivers are installed and is queyed. have
tried to fix the problem by manually setting the irq, but
no luck. the modem is a zoom lucent v90 dualmode fax
modem.

Winmodems don't take kindly to "upgrades". To resolve the issues, remove
the device in Device Manager(show and remove hidden devices also),
shutdown the PC, Physically remove the modem and start the PC back up.
Now get out the installation instructions and follow them to the letter
to perform the "modem" installation.
