Com 1 in use Cannot identify

Recently tranfered data from old laptop to new one. New LT modem is set for com3 - Cannot establish dial up because com1 (in use) Have second identical new laptop that work fine and internet access normal

Cant finf what is in use on Com1. Have deleated a nunber of related files/programs with no help
