Hi,
If you aren't in Full Screen mode (Ted's suggestion) try rearranging the
toolbar. Grab the vertical bars at the end of various segments and drag them
around- including up and down. The default buttons may just be hidden.

To reset the IE toolbar to default, download and run (merge) this REG file:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/IEToolbar.reg
