Is there a function in Front Page 2003 to allow user column sorting of a
database results table.

Example; user visits the website, views a database results table and has the
option to sort by a specific column (ascending or descending) by clicking on
the column heading.

I know this can be hardcoded manually but does Front Page have an available
option? The problem I have is when I open my page in Front Page it overwrites
any code I have manually entered via another editing tool, I'm pulling the
data using the Front Page data results options.

No, this would have to be custom written for your needs.
