When I export from MS Project to Excel, amongst other things I export the
start and finish variance. My client then wants to colour the background of
these variances in six different colours depending on how much lead and lag
there is for the variances. Using Excel conditional formatting and an IF
function I can achieve three colours and one “no colour” but can someone
please tell me how to obtain six colours, again using IF functions.

If you want to set up to 6 different conditional formats then you will
need to use a
macro.

Alternatively, you could download Bob's add-in CFPlus from this link:

http://www.xldynamic.com/source/xld.....Download.html

and this will give you up to 30 different Conditional Formats.

Another alternative is to upgrade to XL2007, where you have more than
3 conditional formats.

Hope this helps.

Pete
