Colored italized letters

I have Office XP, which contains Word (I believe it is version 2002, please
confirm for me), and I "saved as" a letter that I wrote sometime ago, so I
could revise the contents of that ol letter and send it to another person.
However, whatever I write in my newly saved letter comes in a different
color and italized, and cannot even delete that.
What is this, and how can I make my new typing there to match what I had
before there?
Thanks in advance.
Octavio

You have somehow managed to turn on Track Changes. Look at the status bar
and you will see that TRK is black. Double-click it to turn it off. Then
display the Reviewing toolbar (if it isn't already displayed), and click on
the arrow beside the Accept Change button. This will open a menu; click
"Accept All Changes in Document."

Thsank you Suzane, it worked.
I already began to write the new letter from scratch, however, I learned
something that I did not know and will keep the information in my files for
future reference.
Regards.
