I can't change the setting at "Display". It shows that 16
color is only option. It was fine before I dumped out some
old files. I pulled them out of the recycle bin but it
still the same. Any ideas.

You'll want to reinstall the graphics adapter driver.

Sounds like your video card lost its drivers. Reinstall them and you
should be okay again.
