After reformatting computer from 98 to 2000 cannot get
display to show more than 16 colors. Tried driver
downloads but am not sure what kind of adapter I have. I
have a compaq deskpro en. Please help!!

I'm assuming you downloaded the display driver from the
Compaq / HP support site?

I've encountered this in the past and short of opening up
the computer and trying to identify the adapter (which is
sometimes not possible), you may just have to try each of
the drivers they list for your specific machine.
