Color problem

Hi,
I have this weird problem,
some of my programs display color a little bit
different than others in windows vista,
if I open the same photo in windows photo gallery
and in internet explorer and then put them together
they don't exactly match,
it seems like ie7 has the right colors windows photo
gallery and most of the others look a bit desaturated
(except 3ds max 8)
I didn't had this problem in xp,

(I have an ATI Radeon 256 video card and LCD monitor)

please help
