I have a HP4600DN (duplex, network) color laser printer that is about 15
months old -- just out of warranty... It was working fine until a
couple days ago. Suddenly the color is really bad -- looks like no blue
toner is being deposited? (a heavily blue image comes out looking very
brown)
I replaced all the toner carts a few months ago. The 3 color carts show
to be a little more than half full, with the black a little below half.
That seems about right, based on the way the first cartridges ran.
Being out of warranty, HP won't talk to me without charging an arm and a
leg. Extending the warranty beyond one year costed something like $800,
so I opted not to do it... and now appear to need it... :-(
Has anyone else seen a problem like this? Is there anyway to verify
exactly what is wrong, and to see if it is a part I can replace rather
than paying several hundred $$ for HP to look at it?
