Color Page Vivid Pro ii and Windows XP problem

My daughter has the above scanner, which I gave her some time ago. It worked
fine under Windows 98 SE, but even after downloading the latest Driver for
XP she cannot get the scanner to work. It does the Pre-scan, the ports say
all is ok, the Device Mgr. sees the device by name and says it is operating
OK, yet she cannot SCAN.

Anybody else having any thoughts on this?
