color-coding or otherwise highlighting appointments in shared calendars

I have MSN premium and Outlook Connector because I want
to share my calendar with my wife and vice versa.
Specifically, I wanted both of us to be able to view each
other's color coded (that is, labeled) appointments. I
am using labels in lieu of scheduling a shared resource
(because that's only available with Exchange Server, I
believe) to indicate when a resource is being used. For
example, when I have an appointment that requires the
car, I want to be able to label that with a color that my
wife would recognize as being associated with the car.
She would therefore know that I require the car for that
appointment.

I have been stymied thusfar -- the label colors do not
carry over. Does anyone have any comments about what I
am doing wrong? If you know an alternate means of
accomplishing my objective, please let me know. Thanks
in advance!
