Are there any add-in's worth installing (free or
otherwise) that would help me to color code different
types of events in my outlook 2000?

Outlook 2000 provides no color coding capability except in table views,
through automatic formatting rules.

What about labeling? You have a choice of colors, if change the labels and you can customize them. Ex: personal appts are yellow, appts here are green, appts away are blue...
