I have a Win2k computer which fails to boot into Windows every four or five
days. The error message says that ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt.
Replacing said file restores the OS and all is well for a few more days. It
is always the same file that causes the problem. I have Googled and I have
found many solutions to the missing/corrupt file, but nothing on the
repetitive nature of the problem.
Thank you,
MrB

If your PC boots fine most of the time but fails some
of the time then you probably have a hardware problem,
perhaps a failing disk. If you have the necessary tools
then you can clone that disk to another disk. If you don't
then your best bet is to take the PC to a repair shop for
a diagnosis.
