Collections, databinding, column name

There seems to be an infinite way to create a business object in which
a .NET control can bind to: Strings(), Arraylist, datasets, a vast
collection library...

But none of them that I create seem to show the .NET control what the
column names are. I want to bind to an objectdatasource, and have the
gridview or dropdown list automatically recognize what is being return
to it.

What kind of collection do I use for that?
