"collapsing" taskbar items

For some reason, the double arrow in the lower right hand corner has
disappeared and I can't expand or collapse the icons that are active.
I've tried right-clicking the taskbar then selecting Properties, but I can't
see anything that pertains to this. I also restarted PC to no avail. I'd
hate to think I need to do a system restore just to get that back.
Anyone have any ideas of what I can do?

Go to Kelly's site at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm, click on
"N" and scroll to Notification Area for some suggestions.

Thanks Elmo & Rock....

That did it. I've bookmarked that site and will keep it for future
reference.
Thanks you both again!
