Collapsible Text Menu - How to Create ?

I have seen a Collapible or expandable Text menu in
many places. First there is a list of for example "articles"
When you click on these article "links" a paragraph of "text'
opens directly under the link instantly. How is this done please?
This is great, because another window is not opened up, and there are no
bookmarks involved either. Can someone explain how to create a
"collapsible or maybe its called expadable text menu. Thankyou, Su
