I am trying to play a video on windows media player 10 and I get this message:

An audio codec is needed ot play this file. To determine if thi codecis
available to download from theWeb, click Web Help.

I click on Web Help and it cannot find a solution for my problem. It's
telling me to seach for something to download but I really don't know what
I'm searching for. Can you help me?

Use a hex editor to look at the first 100 bytes or so of the video file -
that may give you some clues as to which codec to look for.......

It may as well been shown in the error message.
(I did not succeed in reproducing the format of the message.)

There is software (freeware) available to show the codecs needed, like:
GSpot, http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
VideoInspector: http://www.kcsoftwares.com/index.php?vtb

If you know what's missing, you can use Google to help you find it.
