Hello
I do have a sudden problem with my Visual Studio (.NET Framework 1.1, Visual Studio 2003 version). All was fine and well until 2 days ago when unexpectedly I started to receive the following error
"Visual Basic .NET compiler is unable to recover from the following error
Internal compiler error: code generator received malformed input. Save your work and restart Visual Studio .NET.
All my Web projects are in this state: whenever I try to simply open one file in the Visual Studio I will get the error. Whenever I try to compile the project – the compile will simply “sit” there forever and do nothing. When I try to close the project (after canceling the build) I will again get the error. All I can think of being different from the perfect state I have been in before is that the same day I installed the SQL Server Client Tools on the same machine. The install was OK, I also applied the SP3 – but the VB compiler seems to have been damaged.
I uninstalled and re-installed the VB, the whole Visual Studio, the Framework itself – nothing works.
Did anyone encounter the same issue? Does anyone have any idea
I must mention that the only KB info which talks about this error doesn’t apply in my case (
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;316511) as I am not using a DataGrid (or a ListManager property for that matter)
Please, HELP! I don't want to reinstall the whole machine, I just had it clean and new last Friday :-)
Thank you
