Just read an article in this months Tech IT mag about Cobian backup
software. In addition to it being free (you can donate if you like), it
looks to be very well featured and certainly was touted as being one to use.
Anyone out there using it to back up over a VPN and - what do you think of
it?

Thanks,

Bob S.

I don't use it over a VPN, but I do use it over a corporate network. It's
a bit finicky to set up properly with permissions and user rights, but
once you get that going it works nicely and the options are excellent. I
especially like the ability to backup over FTP, although the 2 GB file
size limit over FTP forced me to change one of my backup sets.

Thanks Annie. So now when I can't get it running, I'll know who to
call.....;-)

We'll give it a try this weekend.

Just a comment. The new version (8.0 which will be out very soon) will not
have this limit.

Regards

Luis,

The article in this months TechNet about your program was a winner and they
obviously are impressed with your efforts. Should I have any problems, I'll
certainly try the forum and should I decide to use the program - you will
also get a donation.

Thank you,

Bob S.
