When I start to install a program it says to close all
open programs, how do I do that in XPPRO? In wimme you
could hit ctrl-alt-del

you can ctril-alt-del and select task manager to end all
programs or you could manually close the programs.

All you really need to do is close all open applications {those shown on the
left side of the Taskbar} and disable your anti-virus background scanning.
To disable your anti-virus you should be able to right click on the
notification area icon and select disable {for Norton Anti-Virus you select
Disable Auto-Protect}.

IMO not needed, but if you really want to go an extra step, open Task
Manager {CTRL-ALT-Del} and end tasks on those listed on the applications
tab.
