I recently removed my Cmedia Card while hardware troubleshooting. I
reinstalled my integrated SoundMax drivers.
After fixing my hardware issues I disabled the SoundMax via Cmos, and
reinstalled the Cmedia 5.1 card.
Only problem is, now when I click on the mixer icon in the tray, it loads up
SNDVOL32.exe. Originally it would pull up its own custom mixer panel. I can
work around it by going to my start programs and loading up the Mixer Rack,
which shows the Mixer at the bottom the way it should be. But if I pick just
mixer from the start programs it loads up windows volume control.
Also, I can go to my cmedia folder and doubleclick mixer.exe, which pulls up
Windows Volume Control rather than the cmedia mixer!!!!
I'm assuming that SoundMax changed something in the registry, since SoundMax
uses SNDVOL32.EXE for it's volume adjustment. I've tried uninstalling the
Cmedia from safe mode and reinstalling the software, but it didn't fix it.
Question is, how do I get mixer.exe to pull up and not sndvol32.exe?
