Hello,

the cmd prompt scrolls VERY slowly in window mode, e.g. when typing a
'dir'. I find this rather annoying - does anybody know a solution what I
can do to make it scroll faster?

Thank you for helping,
greetings,
Gerhard

Not really on topic for this group, but have you looked at "My Computer",
"properties", "advanced", "Performance"?

Try fullscreen CMD. If there is a huge difference in scrolling
speed, then I would guess that your system's video sub-system
components are or may to blame. Also check buffer size, fonts, etc.
settings for the windowsed CMD. A font choice might have a large
impact perhaps. (speculations)

thank your for your hint. Yes, it seems that there is some lack in my
computer - it's an ATI RAGE IIC graphics adaptor, which is not supported
by ATI drivers under Win 2k, there is only a MS driver for it. Many
voices on the usenet stated that the RAGE IIC is more or less
sub-optimal... :-(

They are available on XP and higher. I assume you are running W2K at most.
