i received the message "error: logon failure: unknown user name or bad
password"
after trying tasklist /svc

i'm logged in as administrator. i'm using xp pro.

the reason i want to see tasklist is a second instance of svchost.exe
is taking up 30-50% CPU and i'd like to know what it is it's running.
i'm guessing i have a backdoor/trojan but how do i find out?

You may want to try www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup Programs Tracker. This utility will give you a list of all running processes and services, and where they're loaded from.
