Overnight my desktop filled up with what appears to be icons of copies of
stuff from My Documents. I tried deleting them but they were just replaced
by more copies. I looked in the Windows Explorer at the desktop and it is
filled with this stuff. Some copies even indicated it was 'Copy 47 of ....".
I did a System Restore, but the extra icons did not go away. How can I get
back to my "normal" desktop? Thanks

Files do not multiply by themselves. Nor is this a feature of Windows.
While it's possible to get accidental copies using the mouse to drag and
drop files, 47 copies of a single file is not likely. Suggest checking this
machine with an up to date antivirus program as soon as possible.
