closing web connection

I had to download a long Ms Update so swiched of the auto
disconnect to stop the computor telling me asking me
every 20 mins 'did I wish to continue', or something
similar? - now when I want to disconect from the net I
have to do a 're-start' ( I used to get a popup asking me
if I wanted to disconect ) can anyone tell me the popup
back )
