Whenever I try burning a CD, I get an error message saying that it can't
close the disk. I've done everything that it suggests that I do and I still
can not burn any CD's. Does anybody know what I can do about this?

What software are you using, and what type of CD (CD-R, CD-RW etc)?

It's WMP Version 10 and this is the message that I get when I try burning.
It always pops up when during the "closing disk" process.

"Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to the CD. Verify that the disc
is clean and not damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or
try a different brand of blank discs."

When I click on More Information this is what it tells me to do:

"C00D11AB: Cannot burn files to CD
Windows Media Player cannot burn (copy) the selected files to the CD. To fix
the problem, do one or more of the following:

Clean the disc and verify that it is not damaged.
Select a slower recording (write) speed for the CD burner (recorder).
Try a different brand of blank discs.
Quit other programs.
To select a slower recording speed
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Devices tab.
In Devices, double-click the name of the CD burner (recorder), and then
click the Recording tab.
In the write-speed list, select a slower speed.
Error ID = 0xC00D11AB, Condition ID = 0x00000000
Web Help"

I've done all of those things but nothing is working.

OK. Here's a set of suggestions which will expand on what you've tried:
