Howdy. I have two windows 2000 servers, one is online as the first
domain controller and has SQL server and a program called Docsopen on
it. The other server is offline put configured identically as a
failover. I would just need to restore a current database backup and
refresh my docs directory and bob's your uncle. When I test the 2nd
server with a machine that is joined to the 1st server domain
everything works except I get the message "No Mapping between logins
and security ids was done". I am assuming this is because the
workstation connected to server 2 is looking for another SIDS number.
It logs in successfully to server 2 because the domain name is the
same.
If I'm on the right track, how do I make server 2 exactly the same in
every way to server 1? I don't want to reinstall server 2 if I can help
it because Docsopen is a bitch. Thanks a bunch.

The message you quote usually appears if the account used is
not known to the host. You can probably resolve the issue by
taking the test machine off the domain and putting it back on again.
