Hi - you'll need to provide more detail in order for anyone to hazard a
guess.

Hello,

which servers are you using? time-b.nist.gov worked at the first attempt,
time.windows.com works quite fine after the third attempt.
Have you got a firewall (probably blocking port 123 which is needed for
clock sync)?

Greetings,

I am using xp sp2 and running the ms firewall, also I have a netgear wireless
router that appears to have a firewall that is blocking inbound but not
outbound (wot ever this means I dunno!).

I have not had any problems till now, however a few months ago I did wipe
my pc and then reloaded all the relevant back up softeware cd's that came
with this dell machine!

I doubt that's the problem. Many (if not most) XP machines started having
trouble connecting to many time servers a few weeks ago (or, at least,
that's when I noticed it myself and started seeing others mention the same
thing.) Try the server I posted. It's been successful for several people I
know of.

Which new servers? What happens when you try? What specific error
messages do you get? What do your system event logs report? What
specific troubleshooting steps have you already taken, and what were the
results of each?

I'm afraid that no one can help if you don't provide at least a
modicum of pertinent information.

Below are some of the error logs I keep getting:

I am using windows time server and also I have tried some of the servers
that have been listed in this posted discussion.

On the internet time tab, after clicking 'up date now' the message reads:
'an error occured while windows was synchronising with time.windows.com'

or it will say ' windows has never attempted to synchronise with an internet
time server.

thanks!!??
