I recently upgraded to WINXPPro. When I was running 98SE, I used a free
clipboard enhancer called Classic Clipboard that had a 'hot clips' feature;
i.e., I could assign text to 26 keys (altA thru alt-Z), then insert them
anywhere I needed just by pressing the proper key combination. It was
ideal for one-key access to email addresses of favorite correspondents.

This version of Classic Clipboard won't run in XP, and the XP version
available is not freeeware. Therefore I'm seeking a freebie clipboard
program that'll give me this same hot-key feature. I've grabbed Yankee
Clipper III (from the Pricelessware 2004 CD) but it doesn't seem to have
this option.

Alternatively, is there any free stand-alone program that will let me
assign text entries to individual hot-keys, and let me enter them into
documents?

Clipomatic is fantastic. Only 184K in memory, Ctrl + Alt + V to bring up a
list of items to paste, Standard Ctrl + [C|X] copy to clipboard and save
current, ability to load any saved clipset, current (loaded) clipset and
permanent clipset. Excellent, simple and very functional program.

the good thing about this program is that it can be set not to
keep your pasted password in Windows clipboard memory ( a security
risk)... its at..
