One of my users has a Dell latitude D600 laptop which functioned fine untill
today. With Bootvis i figured out mrxsmb.sys is loaded once in a very short
timeframe (2 seconds) and a few seconds later it is trying to load again!
This time taking up exactly 120 seconds. Sounds to me like it's timing out.
The question is, why does it load twice? Where can I modify such behavior?

Moreover, the logon screen is already visible after say 25 seconds. So if
the user logs on to the laptop, it grays out and takes 2 to 3 minutes for the
network to come up. In the meantime a desktop is shown and apps are loaded

Also, in the bootlog, which i enabled using /sos /boot in the boot.ini, the
mrxsmb.sys driver is loaded succesfully (the first time) and shortly after
another load fails.

If i uninstall Client for microsoft networks, the network is active before
the logon screen appears, like it should be.

Can I reinstall the drivers needed for 'client for microsoft networks'? What
can I try?
