Good afternoon,

Can someone recommend the best practice for configuring dns on a w2k pro
workstation? We're using private ip internally and are not using a proxy
server, so I'm curious as to which (ours/ISP) and how many dns servers I
should setup.

Hi,
In Active Directory environment client DNS must be point to internal AD
integrated DNS. Use forwarder for external name resolution.
At least 2 DNS is recommanded, rest depend on your network requirement.

local workstations point to local DNS, so they can find AD.
DNS forwards to ISP's DNS so clients can find the internet.
www.pctechnicians.ca
check the TIPs section for instructions on how to setup dns forwarder.
