When I'm clicking a web link the window freezes and I need to press
CTRL+ALT+DELETE and kill the window by "END TASK".

This happens 75% of the times. I'm using Windows XP.

Any tips?

You forgot to tell us what browser you are using. If Internet Explorer,
IE6 or IE7? In the meantime:

1. If IE, Tools>Manage Add-ons. Disable all add-ons and see if that helps.

If it doesn't:

2. What is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is
clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

As always, try and answer The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what
changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

Hello,

Try running IE7 without add-ons.

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Internet Explorer 7 (No Add-ons) to start without any add-ons. Try using the
browser and see if problems arise.

If the problem does not occur again, start IE7, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons
and disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem
appears and you get the culprit.
