I use a shape as a trigger. Subsequently, I added text to the shape. Now,
only the text is the trigger. Clicking on the shape no longer triggers the
action.
Is it possible to add text to a shape, but retain the entire shape as the
trigger?
Thanks,
D.G.

I can't repro your problem. I tried to trigger a shape (a rectangle) with a
circle: that works.
I then Added text to the circle: still working, clicking ON the shape

Aha. Thanks for the reply. As it turns out, the problem happens when a
shape effect is added.
Add a Shape Effect to the oval. The trigger becomes restricted to the text.
However, if you delete the text, the oval becomes the trigger again.
Odd.

It looks like I can either remove the effect, or make a group out of the
shape and an overlaid text. Of course, I'd rather not lose the effect, or go
to the trouble of replacing all my text and creating groups.

Well, on further investigation, the culprit is Shadow effects. I had used a
Preset effect, which included a very subtle shadow. I deleted the shadow
part, and kept the bevel, which restored the normal trigger.
Thanks,
D.G.
