When I click on Rules I get a message saying I'm working currently

When I go to TOOLS\Rules & Alert, I ge the following message:-
"You are curretly working offline. To use this command, you must go online
and connect to the Microsoft Exchange Server"

How do I correct this error?

First question... do you normally connect to an Exchange Server?
