Is it possible to click a "button object" that would open, bring forward, or
have appear another image?

Similar to clicking a hyperlink for a .jpg, however, I do not want a
seperate window or webpage to open. I just want the image to appear.

Nope, no visibility toolbar

The "simple" way to do it is to hyperlink to a hidden slide (See custom
shows) with the large image. Be sure to include a way to return to your
starting point.

Can you explain why? The person viewing will not see anything but the
larger image...
