Whenever you ask about an error message, we need to know the complete,
exact text of the message.
Here's my guess at what you're seeing:
Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name: Device Manager
CLSID:{74246BFC-4C96-11D0-ABEF-0020AF6B0B7A}
If I guessed correctly, the solution is to click Start > Run > type this
command into the white box:
regsvr32 devmgr.dll
then click OK.
