I noticed after using internet options to clear my cookies and saved
urls etc I noticed that when I hit run cmd was still in the run prompt on my
xp media center. Where are all the hidden caches at and how can I clear
them? Using registry keys and so on so they don't pop up again. I don't like
wasting space.

Hello Bill,

The RunMRU hardly takes a few bytes of space on your hard drive. However, if you really need to
remove them, they are stored in the following registry location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

You can remove the specific strings which bother you. NOTE: Incorrectly editing the registry may
leave your computer un-operable.

It's not really a space waster. It's not going to help you with recovering
disk space if the drive is getting full. Time to get a bigger drive.

Ccleaner is the easiest way to delete unused temp files, MRUs, etc.:

Use CCleneaner

Besides the Run MRU (Most Recently Used) list, this also clears...

IE History, AutoComplete, Clear the TIF, Clear the Run MRU, Typed
URL's and Clear List:

XP Start Menu:
You have to switch to Classic long enough to get the Clear button.
Right click the Start button | Properties | Select Classic Start Menu |
Customize button | Clear button | Click OK | Select Start menu | Click Apply
|Click OK

Classic Start Menu:
Right click the Start button | Properties | Customize button | Clear button

Clear button
[[Removes the list of recently accessed documents, programs, and Web sites
from the Documents menu.]]

The XP Start Menu Clear button does not clear the Run MRU. The Classic
Start Menu Clear button will clear everything in the Run MRU.
