clearing the cache

i am using windows xp to homeschool. when we try to
access the homeschool website it displays a currently
under maintenace message and advises us to clear the
cache. How do you do that?

Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, select Internet Options, on the general
tab click delete cookies, delete files and accept the option to delete all
offline content and clear history.

Note, the message a site is undergoing maintenance usually means the site
will be unavailable for a period of time so I'm not sure clearing the cache
will resolve that.
